The 86Z is proving to be a much larger project than anticipated, so we picked up this 85 IROC to use for parts. It has a 305 TPI motor and an automatic trans. It was located locally for the sum of $600. It looks to have the original drivetrain and even runs (although not very well right now).

Although the plans for the 2 cars keep evolving, the current thinking is to use the good parts from this car on the 86. When the 86 is done, we'll use the remaining parts to get this one respectable. This one will likely be used as a bracket racer so we can have some fun at the local strip. None of us has raced before, so it should be a good learning experience.

This will also be a low budget restoration, so we will scrounge for parts and re-use whatever we can. The body is incredibly sound on this one. The hood is new, but was left in the weather without paint and the fenders are a little dented up, but the floors and quarters are clean and solid. There will be much less body work necessary on this one.
