So a new project has begun, not a Y2 but a Camaro nonetheless. My son recently expressed an interest in Camaro's and wanted a third gen to work on, so the hunt was on. A few weeks later this car followed us home. The pictures on the "Day One" link on the left show how it looked on 10/7/2007 when he bought it. It's a 1986 Z28 with a 305 and a 5-speed. It was located a few miles away for the sum of $1000, and is surprisingly original with just a badly done repaint somewhere along the way.

This will be a low budget restoration, so nothing will be farmed out and as many parts as possible will be re-used. These cars still aren't worth much, so it doesn't make sense to spend a lot of money on it. Most of all it will provide an opportunity to learn some new skills like welding and painting, and introduce my son to the hobby.

As work on it progresses we'll be posting updated pics.
